Purifier problems
Purifier keeps running and does not stop
The purifier runs all day, the tank overflows, or water keeps going down the drain pipe.
What it usually turns out to be.
In roughly the order we find them.
- The float switch in the tank has failed, so the purifier never gets the signal that the tank is full.
- The solenoid valve is stuck open and keeps letting water in.
- A non-return valve has failed, so the pump keeps starting again and again.
- On under-sink purifiers, the pressure switch that stops the pump is faulty.
What we
actually do.
Switch the purifier off and close its inlet tap until we come — it is wasting water and the pump can burn out. The technician tests the float, the valve and the switch, and replaces the one that has failed.
Parts, if any are needed, are charged at the prices on our spare-parts list — and the technician tells you the amount before fitting anything.
